PhD Researcher, Swansea University

I am a third year KESS II scholarship student, part funded by Sport Wales, studying at Swansea University for a PhD in Sport and Exercise Science.

My research centres around two projects; 'Swan-Linx' which aims to collect data on the health and fitness of 9-11 year old children in South Wales, and 'ASCENT' which focuses on the feasibility of a school-based health, physical activity & wellbeing health promotion project with 12-15 year old girls across three secondary schools in South Wales.

My research interests include; physical activity and females, feminist theory, self-objectification and physical competence, feminist phenomenology, qualitative/creative methodologies, social ecology, the accurate representation of participants through research, the promotion of participant voice, addressing the imbalances of power in the researcher-researched relationship and considerations for researching with children and adolescents.
