I am a child public health researcher with a particular interest in childhood vaccination. Research in this area has included large epidemiological studies to identify the determinants of vaccine uptake; parents', young people's and health professionals' attitudes and knowledge towards vaccines and vaccine preventable diseases. These have focussed on established vaccines, new vaccines and new uses for established vaccines such as in pregnant women. I have also focussed on improving uptake in groups with traditionally poorer uptake such as traveller gypsies and children in care of the local authority.
