Reader in Health Services Research, Anglia Ruskin University

Dr Hilary Bungay has been researching in the field of Arts and Health research for over 10 years and has contributed to a number of research projects exploring the impact of the arts on health and wellbeing. She was awarded a grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) to conduct a critical review of “The value of the arts in clinical and therapeutic interventions” (2014), and in collaboration with Essex County Council was awarded a grant from Arts Council England for a project “The impact of participatory arts on social relationships for older people in care settings” (2016). As a member of steering group for the Special Interest Group for Arts Health and Wellbeing at the Royal Society of Public Health she plays an active role in developing the research agenda for arts, health and wellbeing.

In addition, she has conducted a number of funded health service evaluations, and supervises post graduate and PhD students working in health and social care.
