My name is Houssem Ben Lazreg and I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Alberta with the Department Modern Languages and Cultural Studies. I am also teaching Arabic and French and working as a freelance translator/interpreter.
My research areas include social movements, politics and translation, Middle Eastern graphic novels, and Islamist militant movements. My dissertation focuses on the representation(s) of conflicts in the Middle East through media translations.
