Professor of Future Urban Mobility, Swinburne University of Technology

Hussein Dia is Professor of Future Urban Mobility in the Department of Department of Civil and Construction Engineering at Swinburne University of Technology.

He is a Chartered Professional Engineer with more than three decades of experience. He has worked extensively in collaboration with both the public and private sectors, including strong engagement with industry. His research interests are in next generation smart mobility systems and the convergence of technology, infrastructure and human elements in urban environments. His current work is focused on harnessing digital innovations to unlock potential opportunities for decarbonisation of the transport sector.

Hussein is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Fellow of Engineers Australia and Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
