Senior Lecturer in Politics, Aberystwyth University

Huw Lewis is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of International Politics at Aberystwyth University, Wales. His research and teaching expertise include language revitalisation, language policy and planning, debates concerning multiculturalism and nationalism and contemporary Welsh and UK politics. His recent publications include New Geographies of Language (2019, with Rhys Jones) and Language Revitalisation and Social Transformation (2021, with Wilson McLeod). His work has also been published in prominent peer-reviewed journals, including Political Studies, Policy & Politics and the Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development. Between 2017 and 2019 he was the coordinator of the Revitalise research network, which brought together an international group of academic researchers and policy practitioners to consider the implications of major instances of contemporary social change for our understanding of how language revitalisation efforts should be designed and implemented
