Irene Echeverria Altuna

PhD student in Neuroscience, University of Oxford

After a BSc in Neuroscience from University College London (2014-2017), I was awarded a la Caixa Fellowship for Postgraduate Studies to complete the Dual Master in Brain and Mind Sciences (2017-2019; University College London, École Normale Supérieure, Sorbonne Université). During my BSc and master’s degrees, I became interested in several aspects of neuroscience, ranging from the perception of pain to the neural processes underlying sleep. In 2019, I received a Wellcome Trust Studentship for an MSc and a PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Oxford. Currently, I carry out my doctoral work together with the Brain and Cognition Lab, investigating how our brain uses the temporal regularities in the environment to proactively guide perception and action.
