Aboriginal Educator and Research Associate, University of Sydney

Irene is a Darug woman and emerging scholar at the Research Centre for Children and Families, Sydney School of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney and teaches Aboriginal Studies at the University. Irene has taught in both primary and secondary education. Before pursuing her passion for education and research, Irene worked in primary health as an Intensive Support Child and Family worker as well as a Lecturer for the NSW Police Force. She has also had extensive experience in employment pathways for vulnerable and disadvantaged young Aboriginal people. Irene holds a Bachelor of Secondary Education (Indigenous Education) and is currently a Higher Degree Research student at the University of Sydney.
