Isaac Adebayo Adeyemi

Professor Isaac Adebayo Adeyemi, a graduate of the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria (1969-1973) and the University of Leeds, Leeds, England, (1974-1975), holds the following qualifications: B.Sc.(Agriculture) Hons in Agricultural Biochemistry and Nutrition (1972), Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition (1973) and Ph.D. in Food Science (1978). He had his Postgraduate Doctoral training in Cereal Technology at the Institute for Cereals, Flour and Bread, TNO, Wageningen, The Netherlands (March-June, 1980).

He is a recipient of the following awards: Nigerian Cocoa Marketing Board Scholarship Award (1971-1972); UNICEF Scholarship Award (1972-1973); Federal Government of Nigeria Postgraduate Scholarship Award (1974-1978); Dutch Fellowship Award (March-June, 1980) and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU)/Carnegie Corporation Senior Fellowship Award, as Visiting Professor, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada (July-November,1993).

Professor Adeyemi has held the following academic positions: Research Assistant, Food Science and Applied Nutrition Unit ( now Department of Human Nutrition),University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria (1973-1974); Lecturer II to Assistant Professor (Reader), Department of Food Science and Technology, Obafemi Awolowo University (formerly University of Ife), Ile-Ife, Nigeria (1978-1991) and Professor, Department of Food Science and Engineering, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology ( formerly, Oyo State University of Technology), Ogbomoso, Nigeria (1991-2018).

He has successfully supervised thirteen doctoral (Ph.D) candidates and he has over one hundred publications to his credit. His areas of research include Cereal Chemistry and Processing, Nutrition, Food Chemistry and Analysis and Food Product Development. He has, at various times, attended conferences within and outside Nigeria.

Professor Adeyemi has held various administrative positions within and outside the Nigerian University System, prominent of which are :Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Acting Vice-Chancellorat the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso and Vice-Chancellor, Bells University of Technology,
Ota (2006-2016). Currently, he is the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Olusola Sanu Education Support Foundation (OSESUF), Ibadan and Chairman, Governing Council, The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST), served as its President (2008-2010)and has been conferred with the award of Life Time Achievement in Food Science and Technology by the Institute. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science.
