Jake Lynch is Associate Professor and Director of the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Sydney. He is a former professional journalist, having worked as a Political Correspondent for Sky News and the Sydney Correspondent for the London Independent newspaper. He was also a reporter and presenter for BBC World TV, for which he presented over a thousand half-hour news bulletins.

His main research interest is in Peace Journalism. He is the author of several books, and numerous scholarly articles and book chapters, on the subject; as well as innumerable articles in public media on issues of peace and conflict. He is Secretary General of the International Peace Research Association.
