James P. Van Overschelde

Dr. Van Overschelde is an associate professor of secondary education and the co-executive director of the Research for EDucator Equity & Excellence Center at Texas State University. He has conducted rigorous quantitative research on education, learning, and teacher preparation/employment for 20 years. His research is featured in dozens of articles and book chapters and he presents his research internationally. The ultimate goal of his research is to increase the supply of new, highly qualified teachers, to improve the employment and learning environments in schools so teachers want to remain teaching children, and to ensure that all children receive an equitable education.
