Matthew Flinders Professor (Health and Social Equity), Flinders University

Professor James Smith is the Deputy Dean of Rural and Remote Health NT and Matthew Flinders Professor (Health and Social Equity) at Flinders University. He has held a range of executive and senior management roles spanning academic, government and non-government contexts. He is an applied public health researcher with interests focused on improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and education outcomes. He is a Fellow and Life Member of the Australian Health Promotion Association; and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management. He is also an Adjunct Professorial Fellow with the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education.
