Dr Jamie Cleland is a Senior Lecturer in Sport and Management at the University of South Australia. He has authored and co-authored six books: The Palgrave Handbook of Masculinity and Sport (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019); Online Research Methods in Sport Studies (Routledge, 2019); Screen Society (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018); Collective Action and Football Fandom: A Relational Sociological Approach (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018); A Sociology of Football in a Global Context (Routledge, 2015); and Football’s Dark Side: Corruption, Homophobia, Violence and Racism in the Beautiful Game (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014). He has also published over 40 articles and chapters on contemporary social issues in sport and society, focusing on topics such as terrorism/security, communication, sexuality/homophobia, violence, race and active supporter mobilisations in a range of international journals and books.
