Reader in Film, Television and Media/Co-Director, Centre for Media History, Aberystwyth University

Media historian, especially television. Currently working on three projects: the early years of television and the BBC (in the 1920s and 1930s) - book out from Edinburgh University Press in 2021! Also working on a Leverhulme Trust-funded project on television and society in Wales in the 1970s. And finally, in the very initial stages of a project on the history of public service broadcasting in Britain. I'm a member of the steering group of the Entangled Media Histories research network, a member of the advisory group of the National Broadcast Archive of Wales, and of the 'Connected Histories of the BBC' research project based at the University of Sussex.
