Jason Byron Perez

I am a microbiologist and currently a MSc student at University of Saskatchewan currently investigating the pathogenicity mechanisms of “Brachyspira hampsonii”, a novel species causing disease in swine.

I studied Biology at Wilfrid Laurier University and investigated biofilm production by environmental isolates of Enterococcus and Clostridium under different conditions. During my time there, I also investigated bacterial communities associated with different wastewater treatment systems.
