Jean-François Rami

Chercheur en génétique et amélioration des plantes, Cirad

Jean-François Rami is a crop geneticist in CIRAD, Montpellier, France. His main research interests are crop diversity, breeding methods and data management. He coordinated several projects on sorghum and peanut aiming at implementing marker-assisted selection in Mali and Senegal. Today, he is working in an interdisciplinary team named "Dynamics of Diversity, Societies and Environments" (DDSE) in the "Genetic Improvement and Adaptation of Mediterranean and Tropical Plants" (AGAP Institut) research unit. He has been involved in the establishment of the Innovation and Crop Improvement in West Africa (IAVAO) partnership platform for research and training, and is currently a member of its management team. Jean-François Rami is an agronomist by training and received a PhD from the University of Paris XI.
