Jennifer Cassarly

PhD Candidate in Developmental Psychology, Teesside University

I am a third-year PhD candidate in developmental psychology. My doctoral thesis focuses on exploring early adolescents' beliefs about negotiating sexual consent for non-coital sexual activities (e.g. kissing). A further aim of this research has been to develop, administer and pilot a sexual consent education programme for early adolescents in northern England. Additional research interests include sexual violence prevention in schools, sexual coercion, and (hetero)sexual scripts. My research interests also extend to self- and other-objectification, body image, and social media.
