Jennifer E. O'Brien

Jennifer O’Brien is an independently licensed clinical social worker and PhD student at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill- School for Social Work. Since obtaining her MSW from Smith College in 2010, Jennifer has worked at a variety of community mental health clinics (both domestically and abroad) with survivors of trauma suffering from addictions. Specifically, Jennifer has used evidence-based practices including TF-CBT, DBT, Seeking Safety, and motivational interviewing to empower women and alleviate their mental health systems. Jennifer currently works as an outpatient therapist at a small community clinic in Durham, and is a research assistant for the MOVE (Mothers Overcoming Violence through Education and Empowerment) Program.
