Jeroen van den Bergh

Professor at VU University Amsterdam & ICREA Research Professor, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona

ICREA Research Professor at the Institute of Environmental Science & Technology of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and honorary professor of Environmental & Resource Economics in the School of Business & Economics and the Institute for Environmental Studies, VU University Amsterdam. Previously, full professor of Environmental Economics (1997-2007) at VU University Amsterdam, and a member of the Energy Council of the Netherlands (2003-2007). Published 17 books and more than 200 journal articles. Awarded the Royal Shell Prize 2002, the IEC (Sant Jordi) Environmental Prize 2011, and an ERC senior grant. Editor-in-chief of the Elsevier journal "Environmental Innovation and Societal Transitions". Research covers climate policy under bounded rationality, the growth-vs-environment debate and evolutionary environmental economics. Latest book: "Human Evolution Beyond Biology and Culture: Evolutionary Social, Environmental and Policy Sciences" (Cambridge University Press).
