Jessica Holtaway

Jessica Holtaway a lecturer in the School of Art, Design and Fashion at Solent University. Her research centres on politically-engaged artworks and performances. She is interested in the relationship between creativity and crisis.

Jessica is a co-editor of the book 'artWORK: Art, Labour and Activism' and you can read her chapter 'Power v. violence: how can contemporary art create a ‘space of appearance’ and generate social change?' in the upcoming book 'Cultures of Violence, Visual Arts and Political Violence' from Routledge.

Jessica's first monograph 'World-forming and Contemporary Art' was published by Routledge in Feb 2021.
