Assistant Professor of Sociology, Colorado State University

Jessie is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Colorado State University, specializing in environment, food and agriculture, development, and cultural sociology. She holds a PhD from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Masters degree in Development Studies from the Graduate Institute in Geneva, Switzerland. She also served as an agriculture Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali, West Africa. Her current research investigates how racial projects of modernity intersect with agricultural change, uneven wealth accumulation, and rural dispossession in the context of Burkina Faso.
