Jillian Dawes Farquhar

Professor of Marketing, Solent University

Jillian's research concentrates on the marketing of financial services, She has spoken on the Today programme on R4 , written invited articles for The Conversation and Which? on customer switching in fhaving co-authored a major text book and been editor of a leading academic journal in the area. She has maintained close links with financial services conducting a number of funded projects such as customer loyalty and distribution networks. She has been a keynote speaker at both practitioner and academic events. Her expertise has led to visiting positions at universities in New Zealand, Taiwan and South Korea. She is currently Professor of Marketing at Southampton Solent University, visiting fellow at Gordon Institute for Business Sciences, University of Pretoria and Senior Associate of the Centre of the Centre for Risk, Banking and Financial Services, University of Nottingham. An expert in qualitative research, she has authored a Sage volume on case study research and acts as reviewer for highly ranked academic journals for these methodologies. She is currently on the editorial board for the Service Industries Journal. Her current research interests are corporate branding, particularly the recovery of such brands and vulnerable consumers working with Dr Robson. Recent publications have also covered corporate social responsibility and co-branding in services.
