Senior Fellow (Sport & Exercise Psychology), University of Winchester

I am a Senior Fellow in Sport and Exercise Psychology at the University of Winchester, UK and have been lecturing since 1998. I have been a BASES-accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist since 2005 and became a Chartered Scientist in 2013. I created and led our Department's first Sport and Exercise Consultancy Unit (SECU), which provides sport and exercise science support to athletes of all levels. I have worked at International level with the Great Britain archery Olympic development squad and have also worked with military sports teams including the Royal Navy rugby union team and the British Armed Forces Mountaineering team. Additionally I have worked with national league hockey, regional netball and regional swimming as well as individual athletes in a variety of sports.

My PhD examined the impact of expectancy effects on the feedback provided on student work. Specifically it explored whether gender and/or ethnicity (as inferred by the student name on an assignment) resulted in biased feedback. I have published in a diverse range of areas including applied sport psychology, women's experiences in sport, career-ending injury and expectancy effects
