PhD Candidate in Nutritional Sciences, University of Toronto

Jodi Bernstein is a Registered Dietitian and has a Masters of Public Health, specializing in community nutrition. Jodi is in the final year of her PhD studies in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Toronto where she is evaluating sugars in the Canadian prepackaged food supply in an effort to inform nutrition labelling policies. Most notably, Jodi has developed an algorithm to estimate the free sugars contents of Canadian food and beverages and the results have since been used to populate One Sweet App, a mobile app that allows users to track their free sugars intakes and compare this to guidelines from the World Health Organization.
