Dr John Keane is a Fisheries Research Fellow at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies, University of Tasmania. After growing up in Port Stephens, NSW, he moved to Tasmania to complete a degree in applied science (fisheries). He has researched small pelagic, bivalve, urchin and periwinkle fisheries, and now leads the Dive Fisheries research team. John major research focus is currently related to the control of the climate-driven range-extending Longspined Sea Urchin in Tasmania.
