Plant ecologist, Deakin University

John is a plant biologist interested in the patterns and processes governing plant community assembly, along with factors that shape plant traits and adaptations. His current research seeks to understand how natural and anthropogenic disturbance affects biological communities, the contributions of species to ecosystem functioning, and how to improve the provision of ecosystem services. He is also involved in delivering a range of biology and ecology related units at Deakin University, where he completed a PhD in 2018.
