Senior Researcher, Water Resources Management, CGIAR System Organization

Jonathan Lautze is a researcher at the International Water Management Institute-Southern Africa office in Pretoria. He has been involved in a range of applied research and development projects focused on topics such as Water Governance, Water Security, Transboundary Water Management, Climate Change and Water, and Water and Health. Lautze has published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles in journals and books, and has worked for USAID and the World Bank.

His development experience includes time living and working in Benin, Ethiopia, and Sri Lanka, and short-term assignments in Burkina Faso, Chad, Egypt, Ghana, Israel/Palestine, Jordan, Mali, Morocco, Oman, Rwanda, Senegal, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uganda and Uzbekistan.

He holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School, Tufts University and a PhD from Tufts Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
