Jordi Solé Ollé

Profesor Agregado. Especialidad: oceanografía, sistemas energéticos, sistemas complejos y clima, Universitat de Barcelona

Senior researcher in the fields of climate, environment, ecology and energy. Degree in Physical Sciences from Universitat de Barcelona and a PhD in Applied Physics by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Pre and postdoc stays in Holland, Germany, Italy and the US.

Participation in 26 scientific projects, leading 8 of them including MEDEAS EU H2020 project (www.medeas.eu). Author of 67 scientific publications, 49 of them peer reviewed, deserving 1497 citations for an Hi of 22 (GS, 8th of April 2021). Reviewer for 9 international journals. Software development and implementation of 5 models on time series, harmful algal blooms, energy systems and ocean hydrodynamics. Involved in three research cruises and in the regular monitoring of Barcelona harbor. 67 contributions to scientific meetings and conferences. Participated in the organization of 10 scientific meetings. Co-advisor of seven PhD theses (five on going). 17 years of master and undergraduate teaching experience coordinating several subjects at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Universitat de Barcelona and Universitat Rovira i Virgili.

Strong involvement in outreach activities. Since 2010 is running a blog in Catalan on energy and environment related issues (with more than 238000 viewed pages) and gives dissemination talks about the intertwined effects of energy, ecology and climate on society, together with regular contributions and appearances in mass media.
