Personal Docente e Investigador Microbiología, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

I am a Veterinary medicine doctor (2000-2005) with a strong interest for evolution and genetics. I found the role of veterinarians in Public Health appealing, so I did my PhD on antimicrobial resistance (2006-2011). I then performed a postdoctoral stay at Institut Pasteur working on integrons (2011-2016) and a short postdoctoral stay in the University of Oxford to strengthen my knowledge on experimental evolution and to apply it to the field of integrons (2016). I now lead the Molecular Basis of Adaptation (MBA) lab, at Universidad Complutense, focused on integron-mediated antimicrobial resistance.
