Prof Burns is a world authority on inherited neuropathies of childhood. He also has special expertise in musculoskeletal disorders of the foot and ankle. He was an NHMRC Early Career Fellow (2006-09), a US Fulbright Scholar (2009, Michigan) and an NHMRC Career Development Fellow (2011-14). He is now Professor of Paediatric Neuromuscular Rehabilitation and Associate Dean Research (Health Sciences) at the University of Sydney and Director of the Paediatric Gait Analysis Service of New South Wales at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
