Professor and Director of MBA Health, UCL

Dr Julie Davies’ research and teaching interests lie in the areas of international higher education, human resource strategy (especially in SMEs and the data driven economy) and professional development (particularly hybrid managers), research impact,. Her research has been published in journals such as the Academy of Management Learning & Education; Gender, Work & Organization, and the Journal of Management Development. She is a Fellow of CIPD, HEA and AUA.

Julie is currently researching workforce redesign in Airedale Hospital's Acute Assessment Unit. She was the UK lead for the five country Erasmus+ Project HRM in SMEs 2016-19: https://efis.tul.cz/sharpen/ SHARPEN - SMEs Human Resource Attraction, Retention and Performance Enhancement Network.
Julie is a member of the Interdisciplinary Research on Management Education (IRonME) Group at Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics and EFMD's doctoral conference steering group and research committee. She founded and facilitates the Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools Deans' Programme.

Julie was a Visiting Scholar at the LH Martin Institute, University of Melbourne, and she is a member of the international advisory board of iaelyon School of Management. Previously, Julie was Deputy Chief Executive of the Association of Business Schools in London where she initiated and led the International Deans’ Programme with EFMD. She taught for Cass Business School in Suzhou, China, the Open University in Russia and East Africa and at Birkbeck. Julie was a senior manager in UCL Chemistry, the School of Oriental and African Studies, City University, and she was seconded to the change management team in the National Health Service for the opening of Chelsea & Westminster Hospital.
