Lecturer, Conflict and Security Studies, Sciences Po

With a background in science and political science, Dr. Julien Théron holds a PhD in political philosophy with a thesis on the emergence of conflicts within and between societal groups. His main interests are the emergence, structuration and transformation of complex conflicts, below and above the threshold of violence. Dr. Théron started his career in policy, working with institutions (MFA, MoD, EU, UN), think tanks as well as political movements. His analyses of conflicts have been broadcasted in global media such as CNN, AFP or France 24. His academic career brought him to teach at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Universities of Versailles and Paris II Panthéon-Assas. Former Senior Research Fellow at the Norwegian Defence University College, he teaches now conflict and security studies at the international curriculum of Sciences Po.
