Karen Roux obtained her PhD in Assessment and Quality Assurance in 2021. She was awarded the IEA Bruce H. Choppin Memorial Award in 2021 for her outstanding PhD thesis which focused on the equivalence of PIRLS passages across three languages in South Africa.
