Kate C. Tilleczek

Professor and Canada Research Chair (Tier 1), York University, Canada

Kate Tilleczek is full Professor and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair (Youth, Education & Global Good) in the Faculty of Education at York University. Her CRC is funded by Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). Professor Tilleczek is the Director of the Young Lives Research Laboratory which is a unique inter-generational and intercultural space that links the university with youth-serving communities to understand, research, support and work with/by/for young people as they navigate challenges such as: social and climate injustice, ecological degradation and the paradox of digital technology. Professor Tilleczek works with large teams across countries to record, engage, amplify and support the work that youth are doing to overcome these challenges. She has recently been awarded funds from both SSRHC and from York University to continue her program of research on youth in the digital age and to develop am international Partnership for Youth and Planetary Well-being.
