Kate is currently undertaking her PhD at the Centre for Human Psychopharmacology at Swinburne University of Technology, under the supervision of Prof Andrew Scholey, AProf Andrew Pipingas and Dr David White. The focus of her PhD is the possible mood and cognitive benefits of curcumin supplementation in healthy older adults. She is also examining the potential mechanisms through which mood and cognitive benefits may be achieved by examining curcumin's effects on a range of blood biomarkers (e.g. oxidative stress, inflammation), cardiovascular health and brain function using MRI.
