Kellie Burns

Senior Lecturer in Health Education, University of Sydney

As a historical sociologist, Kellie's research explores the intersections of gender, schooling, media and health. Her current research projects focus on: sexualities, sexual health and consent education; boys, popular culture and schooling; histories of public health and schooling; histories of childhood health and disease; and, HPV vaccination literacy. She formerly taught in primary and secondary schools in Canada, and has worked in initial teacher education in Australia for more than a decade. She is a member of the Feminist Boys Studies Research group.
