PhD Candidate in the School of Health and Life Sciences, Teesside University

My PhD research looks at "A whole systems approach to reducing the obesogenic environment with a school food focus". I am passionate about the impact of nutrition on adolescent obesity levels, behaviour and mental health. I have spoken locally, nationally and internationally on the topic of school interventions and the importance of food choice on mood and behaviour.

My first book is a practical guide to support the development of emotional resilience and positive mental health in our adolescents 'Nourish your teens, mind, body and soul'.

My expertise includes mental health links with regards to adolescent nutrition, health and, wellbeing in schools, nutrition training, food choice architecture and creating a healthy environment, product analysis, healthy veganism/plant based. I am a member of the Association for Nutrition - AFN, Nutrition Society, FUSE, ASO.

I am also a member of plant-based health professionals UK.
