Kevin Hewison completed his PhD at Murdoch University in 1984. Since then he has held academic posts at Murdoch University, the Australian National University, the University of Papua New Guinea, the University of New England, and the City University of Hong Kong.
He is the author of more than 200 publications on Southeast Asia, democratization and globalization. His current research interests include: the political economy of Southeast Asia, especially Thailand; democratization; violence and politics; and labour issues.
He is the Editor of the Journal of Contemporary Asia.
