Prof Kevin McConway works on applications of statistics in biological and medical sciences, on the representation of ideas of risk and uncertainty.

He has a keen interest in the way statistics is presented in the media For eleven years he was involved with an BBC/Open University co-production, 'More or Less', a current affairs programme about numbers, broadcast on BBC Radio 4. More recently, he has worked with the UK's Science Media Centre, and is currently one of its Trustees. He also runs training workshops about statistics in the media for journalists, press officers and scientific researchers
