Kira is an early career researcher with a background in human movement, education (specifically health and physical education) and epidemiology. Kira's current research interests are in the prevention, causes and management of chronic disease. Her recent work aims to understand how individual, social and environmental factors influence risk factors for chronic disease (physical inactivity, nutrition, smoking, alcohol consumption and obesity) across the life course, with a specific interest in urban-rural populations and in populations experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage.
