Krista Collier-Jarvis

PhD Candidate in English, Dalhousie University

Krista is L'nu/Mi'kmaw and a PhD Candidate in the Department of English at Dalhousie University. She teaches and studies popular culture. She specializes in contemporary Gothic, seeking to bring Indigenous approaches to knowledge into the conversation both to provide new perspectives on the Gothic but also to Indigenize academia more generally. Her previous research has focused on monstrous children and representation of pregnancy in The Walking Dead, ecocritical analysis of The Last of Us, and the cultural work of zombies. She teaches writing, popular culture, and comics at Dalhousie; she is a Research Assistant for Thinking through the Museum; and, she is a Research Coordinator on various Indigenous-rooted projects.
