Laura Thomas-Walters

PhD Candidate in Conservation, University of Kent

I'm a member of the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology, working on behaviour change for demand reduction in wildlife trade.

I pull together research from different disciplines to examine how we can more effectively design interventions to change peoples' behaviour. As part of my research, I have investigated the content of popular nature documentaries. I aim to create a scientifically rigorous framework for use by NGOs in demand-reduction campaigns, similar to the EAST framework for government policymakers developed by the British Behavioural Insights Team.
