Laurence has worked at City Futures since 2014 after completing a PhD on the politics of urban sustainability at the University of Sydney. He has worked as a researcher since 2008 looking at a wide range of social and environmental issues in regional and urban contexts. His broad interests are in the intersection of housing markets, urban governance, urban renewal and social-economic outcomes in Australian cities.

Laurence’s recent work at City Futures has focused on various facets of urban renewal in the context of a market economy and understanding the economies of developing new community housing across Australian cities.
