Linda Kiernan

Lecturer in Early Modern European and French History, Dept of History and Centre for European Studies, Trinity College Dublin. Doctorate: 'The Figure of the Maîtresse Royale at the Court of Louis XIV', post-doctoral research on the courts of Louis XIV and Louis XV, with particular emphasis on gender history.

Linda is extremely interested in furthering public engagement with historical debates and topics. She has participated in numerous radio and documentary shows, and is an invited speaker at this year's Dublin Festival of History. She most recently appeared on the BBC series 'Inside Versailles' with Kate Williams and Greg Jenner.
