Loice Achieng Ombajo, MBChB, MMED, MSC, FRCP is an infectious disease specialist and Senior lecturer at the University of Nairobi Department of Medicine. She chairs the National TWG on antimicrobial stewardship and the antimicrobial stewardship committees at The Nairobi Hospital and The Kenyatta National Hospital. She has also chaired the case management committee at the National COVID-19 task force. She is secretary of the Infectious Disease Society of Kenya and the HIV Clinicians Society of Kenya. She is currently leading the establishment of antimicrobial stewardship programs at various sites in Kenya through the Fleming Fund and leading surveillance of Candida auris at various hospitals in Kenya through the Monitor and Prevent Antimicrobial Resistance (MAP-AMR) project. Her research interests include Antimicrobial stewardship and HIV where she is currently leading large clinical trials on improved antiretroviral regimens.
