SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow, Critical Media Art Studio (cMAS), Simon Fraser University

I am an artist and scholar of art and applied ethics. My research-creation methods focus on the ethics of artistic and mainstream representations of migration. My research addresses how creative methods are used in forced migration research. I am an expert in how research ethics standards are applied in art, design, and other creative methods in research (Canada Association of Research Ethics Boards "Circle of Experts"). I am a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow in the Critical Media Art Studio (cMAS) run by Dr. Gabriela Aceves-Sepulveda at School of Arts and Technology, SFU Surrey. My PhD was in the Cultural Studies Program at Queen's University (Kingston). I am a 2019 Fulbright Scholar (University of Texas El Paso) Alumni. I work part time as the Coordinator of Research Ethics at Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
