Research worker, Terrestrial Ecosystems and Climate Change, James Cook University

Lorena is currently working in the creation of the Global Climate Change Research Network at James Cook University with Professor Stephen Williams.

She previously worked in the Ministry of Environment of the Ecuadorian Government as the principal advisor on climate change for the Minister. She also was the National Climate Change Mitigation Director for 2 years, and she represented the Ecuadorian Government as an official delegate in the COP Climate Change Meetings and in the United Nations Framework Convention for Climate Change Meetings.

Lorena has experience in climate change, biodiversity and conservation planning research. In the last 6 years, she has been working in adaptation and mitigation research projects in Australia and Ecuador. She completed her studies in Geography Science and Sustainable Development with an emphasis in territorial planning.
