Louis Volante (PhD) is a Professor at Brock University, Professorial Fellow at UNU-MERIT, and President of the Canadian Educational Researchers’ Association (CERA). He has held Visiting Professor appointments in England (UCL IOE), the Netherlands (UNU-MERIT), and Canada (University of Toronto). His current research is focused on multi-level education governance; comparative policy analysis; impact evaluation of policies and programs; politics of education reform; international large-scale assessments and transnational governance; and cross-national educational inequalities. A frequent invited speaker around the world, Professor Volante has worked as an advisor and evaluator for various Canadian, American, British, and European government departments on issues related to large-scale reform. With over 135 publications that examine diverse cultural contexts, Professor Volante is an internationally recognized scholar whose works are widely cited in academic and policy communities.
