Reader in Public Health and Obesity, Teesside University

Louisa has a BSc (Hons) in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Bath, and a PhD in nutrition from Newcastle University. She has dedicated her research career to weight management, working across academia, policy and practice. In 2007 she co-founded the National Obesity Observatory which later became part of Public Health England (PHE).
 
At Teesside University Louisa is a Reader in Public Health & Obesity, however she is also seconded to public health England 2 days a week where she acts as one of their specialist academic  advisors.

Louisa has a keen interest in co-produced translational research and leads a team specialising in weight management with a strong focus on the role of systematic reviewing, service evaluation and e-health.
