I was appointed to the post of Senior Research Fellow in the School of Modern Languages in 1996 and along with a number of colleagues set about developing our Film Studies curriculum. I am now a Professor in Film Studies.

I have published widely in the field of film and television. From 2006 to 2010 I led a 4 year AHRC funded project tracing the history of French Cinema in Britain.
